World’s most expensive hot dog on sale at Canada Games Plaza

$100 could buy you around 40 packs of hot dogs … or just one giant hot dog down at Canada Games Plaza.

Certified by the Guinness Book of World Records as “The World’s Most Expensive Hot Dog”, the “Dragon Dog” on sale at Dougie Dog’s food truck, is a foot long bratwurst infused with lobster, Kobe beef, and century-old Louis XIII cognac.

Owner DougieLuv says people who put down $100 for a hot dog are often skeptical.

“By the time they leave, they’re my best friend,” he says. “Everybody goes ‘Oh my god, does this ever taste good. This is the most amazing thing I’ve ever put into my mouth,’ there’s a lot of other things they say too, that I can’t say … but it’s amazing.”

DougieLuv says the average number of people who buy the Dragon Dog varies, 10 a day or once a week, often depending on a special occasion like Valentine’s Day, an anniversary, bachelor party, or national multi-sport gaming events.
