Just as motorcyclists get back onto the road, the Provincial Government is warning the public to stay alert.
Drivers are asked to allow at least four seconds of following distance when behind a motorcycle, and give plenty of lane space when passing.
The BC Government warns that a majority of crashes involving motorcycles happen at intersections.
Drivers should take special care when making left-hand turns, and riders should manage their lane position and speed when approaching an intersection.
Motorcycle riders and their passengers are encouraged to wear “all the gear, all the time” despite weather conditions, including a helmet with a full-face visor, leather or heavy fabric jacket and heavy, over-the-ankle boots to prevent injury in the event of a crash.
Finally, Spring weather conditions mean wildlife may be more active, and all drivers should be aware of animals especially around dusk and dawn.
