The 20th sport of the games well underway

Tons of people are getting in on the unofficial sport of the Canada Winter Games.

Pin trading is all the rage these days as collectors both young and old get participate in the action.

Barry Taman, who is the official pin supplier for the games, says pins go back to the Olympic Games.

“We like to say its the 20th sport of the games,” says Taman, “its a great social part of the games, it brings together all the athletes and the volunteers, and is a great way to say thank-you, there a wonderful souvenir for the games.”

Taman says its easy to get started with pin collecting and is a great conversation started.

He says the hardest to find pin for these games is the Sasquatch Pin.
