Anytime Fitness adapting to new normal as PG gyms begin to reopen

We’re well into Phase Two of BC’s Restart Plan and gyms are slowly re-opening in Prince George.

Anytime Fitness began operating last week and have made several adjustments including limiting capacity to 12 members at a time but are also taking appointments for new inquiries.

Owner, Carla Stoddard told MyPGNow.com workout times will be also be shortened.

“So we’ve asked all members to limit their workouts to 60 minutes kind of just in and out, being just very conscious of sanitizing every time they touch something and we have lots of medical-grade sanitizers at the facility for both members and staff to use.”

“We have closed off every other cardio piece, more so it’s just kind of keeping a distance so we’ve just closed off pieces and have taped off different areas of the gym.”

Stoddard also outlined how walk-ins or new members can gain access.

“It’s members-only but we are taking appointments for membership inquiries just limiting capacity so if we are at those twelve members than we will make a booking at a different time.”

“They are able to schedule their training sessions and that’s just to limit our capacity and then a full cleaning happens after each appointment.”

She adds group fitness classes and towel service has been cancelled for the time being.

As a result of COVID-19, staff hours have been reduced as well.

“What we have done now is limit our staff hours from 5 AM to 9 PM since we always need to have staff monitoring the cleanliness and safety of the club and because of all these changes we have offered an extension on all of our memberships to just continue on with their freeze so basically their accounts aren’t reactivated if they are not coming back to the facility.”
