Prince George RCMP investigating downtown stabbing

UPDATED STORY 10:40 AM

The Prince George RCMP received a report of a bleeding man following an incident downtown.

The man was found near the corner of 4th Avenue and Queensway just after 7:30 this morning (Thursday) and appeared to have been stabbed.

Officers attended the scene and paramedics provided medical treatment to the victim.

According to police, the injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

The investigation has led the RCMP to believe an altercation occurred between a group of people, possibly near the corner of 2nd Avenue and Dominion Street.

One man was subsequently stabbed.

This incident appears to be targeted and police are continuing to investigate.

The Prince George RCMP is looking into a targeted stabbing that occurred this morning (Thursday).

According to Cpl. Craig Douglass, it occurred in the city’s downtown core.

Police say they first made contact with the victim near the intersection of 4th Avenue and Queensway.

The investigation is ongoing and more details are expected to be released shortly.
