UPDATE: Highway 16 near Beaverly open following vehicle collison

Update 5:25 pm

Prince George RCMP responded to a single-vehicle collision on Highway 16 near Beaverley Road West, just before 3:00 this afternoon (Thursday).

A single male occupant was taken to hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.

The highway has re-opened.

It was closed for a short time while officers and other emergency services attended the scene.

The investigation is continuing.

Drive BC is reporting the highway has been reopened.

Prince George RCMP is currently responding to a single-vehicle collision between Hooper Road and West Beaverley road, about 2 kilometres west of the city.

The incident reportedly happened just before 3 pm.

Frontline officers and other emergency services are currently on the scene.

 The highway has been closed for the safety of first responders and is expected to remain closed for hours.

According to a witness, traffic is now down to one lane only, and an assessment is in progress.
