PG Hospice Society purchases reception tent for celebrations of life during pandemic

To maintain social distancing during an already tough event, the Prince George Hospice Society has purchased a tent for celebrations of life.

“This tent is in support of our families that are unable to visit all their loved ones together,” said Executive Director Donna Flood.

“They can socially distance as they comfort each other, share stories, and wait to visit our guests in the Rotary Hospice House.”

It  allows groups to meet safely and remain Covid compliant.

“We have seen an increase in need for grief support throughout the Covid restrictions,” said Flood.

“The tent may be booked for celebrations of life or funerals by the community; you do not need to have had your loved one in Hospice to utilize this service.”

The use of the tent is by donation, and streaming is available by request for events.
