It’s showtime: Cineplex Theatre in PG about to reopen

After being closed for the last 4.5 months, moviegoers in Prince George can enjoy the big screen once again.

Cineplex is re-opening its Prince George location tomorrow (Friday).

Last month, the company restarted eight of its locations across BC including the Lower Mainland, Kelowna, Nanaimo, and Victoria.

Spokesperson, Sarah Van Lange spoke with MyPGNow.com.

“It’s been about a 6-week very phased process for our reopenings across Canada, we’ll have 137 of our 164 locations open with the rest of our network opening back up by the 21st (of August).”

“We didn’t want to open up every location in one fell swoop and we really wanted to take a phased approach since we are talking about retraining and rehiring all of our staff.”

She anticipates our community will be excited to enjoy another form of entertainment.

“We’ve all missed the wonder of the big screen and after 4.5 months of being at home people are in need of a night out and we look to bring that back in the community.”

Van Lange added they are rolling out a reserved seating model so people are asked to purchase their tickets ahead of time.

The PG location will operate with 60 to 80% less capacity.

The first showing is set for 12:30 PM, a full list of showings can be found here.

Some of the new safety measures expected to be rolled out include:
