The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George has announced the Mackenzie Transfer Station and Select Landfill is changing its hours for next year.
Effective January 1, 2021, the new operating hours will be Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am to 4pm, and Holidays 10am to 4pm year-round.
The facility will close on Family Day, Good Friday, Canada Day, BC Day, Remembrance Day, and Boxing Day in addition to Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
Meanwhile, representatives from CN’s Dangerous Goods Office made a brief presentation to the Board outlining their procedures and protocols when transporting dangerous goods.
In 2019, approximately 10% of the shipments CN transported in BC were classified as dangerous goods, with slightly more than 40% of those being liquified petroleum gases.
CN has 13 Dangerous Goods Officers strategically located at major terminals across our network, including one in Prince George.
