Method Dance Society prepares for inaugural season

The Method Dance Society has been awarded the 2020 Prince George Arts Micro-Grant by the Community Arts Council.

Method Dance Society is a new professional performing arts company in Prince George and is currently planning an inaugural season for 2020-2021.

The grant program supports the success of Prince George’s emerging artists or arts organizations by providing financial support for short-term projects.

The goal of this program is to provide momentum to projects currently underway but might not reach their full potential without a small or prompt financial investment.
The company is comprised of 4 Principal dancers, 3 core dancers and 2 apprentices for its 2020-2021 season.

Founder and Artistic Director Shelby Richardson spent her formative years training with various choreographers and instructors including Jennifer White (The Source Dance Company), Suzanne Ouelette (Richmond Academy), Ellen Andrews (Royal Academy of Dance), Joanne Pesusich (The Source Dance Company) and Tiffany Tregarthen (Modus Operandi/ OuterInner Space).

By founding Method Dance Society, Shelby seeks to provide an opportunity for contemporary dancers to stay engaged in their regional community while pursuing a meaningful career in dance and the arts.
