PG RCMP continue search for missing kayaker

The search continues for a kayaker that went missing while boating on Davie Lake, just north of Bear Lake, over the weekend.

Prince George RCMP are continuing efforts today to find the man, who was reported missing the afternoon of August 22nd.

Multiple frontline police officers and the Bear Lake Fire Department attended the lake for the initial report.

“Witnesses advised that an adult male went missing after the kayak he was on turned over,” said Corporal Craig Douglass with the Prince George RCMP.

Emergency Management BC was contacted and deployed the Prince George Search & Rescue Society to assist.

An RCMP helicopter also conducted a search of the lake and shoreline without success.

The BC RCMP Underwater Recovery Team attended the lake on Sunday August 23 and continue their search today.

Further updates will be provided.
