A Prince George man is in custody after an altercation with two City of Prince George Bylaw officers over the weekend.
47-year-old George William Alexis has been charged by the BC Prosecution Service with two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, two counts of uttering threats, failure to comply with his probation and release order and obstructing a peace officer.
Prince George RCMP responded to a report of a man threatening two Bylaw officials in a downtown parkade on Saturday afternoon (Aug 22).
The man allegedly threatened the officers both verbally and with blunt objects.
According to RCMP, the man was arrested a short distance away, however, he initially provided a false name to police.
“Once he was positively identified, he was found to have an Arrest Warrant out of Quesnel BC and was believed to be breaching both his probation and conditions of a previous release,” said Corporal Craig Douglass, with the Prince George RCMP.
Alexis is scheduled to appear in court on August 26.
