–For the first time this year, the Vancouver Canucks are facing elimination. The Canucks play the Vegas Golden Knights tonight at 6:45 (PT) in Edmonton with Vegas in front 3 games to 1. The Golden Knights have outscored the Canucks 15-8 in the series.
–The Colorado Avalanche scored 5 unanswered goals in the first period and they went on to a 6-3 victory over the Dallas Stars. The Stars still lead the Western Conference semifinal 3-2 with Game 6 Wednesday night.
–The Tampa Bay Lightning are the first team to advance to the Stanley Cup semifinals. Victor Hedman scored at 14:10 of double overtime to give the Lightning a 3-2 victory over the Boston Bruins. Tampa wins the series 4-1 and will play either the NY Islanders or Philadelphia in the Eastern Conference Final.
–The Islanders and Flyers meet again tonight at 4:00 (PT) with the Islanders ahead 3-1.
NBA:
–The Toronto Raptors try to bounce back against the Boston Celtics today (2:40 PM PT). The Celtics lead the best-of-7 Eastern Conference semifinal series 1-0 after taking the opener 112-94.
–The Miami Heat upset the Milwaukee Bucks 115-104 in the first game of their Eastern Conference semi. Miami is 5-0 in the NBA playoffs.
–The Oklahoma City Thunder edged the Houston Rockets 104-100 to even that first-round series 3-3. The Thunder and Rockets play a 7th and deciding game Wednesday night with the winner to meet the LA Lakers.
–The Denver Nuggets and Utah Jazz play Game 7 this evening (5:30). The winner will face the LA Clippers in the second round of the NBA playoffs.
MLB:
–The Baltimore Orioles ended a five-game losing streak by knocking off the Toronto Blue Jays 4-3 in 11 innings on Monday. The (18-15) Jays visit the (15-15) Miami Marlins today (3:40 PM PT).
