NHL:

–John Klingberg scored on the Dallas Stars first shot, and that would be it for the scoring, as the Stars posted a 1-0 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights. Anton Khudobin made 25 saves for the shutout. Dallas leads the
NHL Western Conference final 1-0 with game two Tuesday night at 5:00 (PT) in the Edmonton bubble.

–The New York Islanders and Tampa Bay Lightning open the Eastern final this evening (5:00 PT).


NBA:

–The Toronto Raptors and Boston Celtics take to the court today (Monday 3:30 PM Pt) in Game 5 of their
NBA Eastern Conference semifinal. The series is tied 2-2.

–The Milwaukee Bucks are still breathing after a 118-115 victory over the Miami Heat in overtime. The Heat still lead 3 games to 1.

–The LA Lakers outscored the Houston Rockets 117-109 to tie that West semifinal 1-1.

–The late game tonight in the NBA has the LA Clippers against the Denver Nuggets (6:00). The series is even 1-1.


Tennis:

–Denis Shapovalov has become the first Canadian to reach the quarterfinals in men’s singles at the U.S. Open.  The 12th-seeded Shapovalov advanced after a four-set victory over No. 7 seed David Goffin of Belgium.


MLB:

–The Toronto Blue Jays are 22-18 after 40 games after a 10-8 triumph over the Boston Red Sox. The Jays, who have just 20 games left, host the (21-19) New York Yankees today (Monday 3:35 PM) in Buffalo.

–Hall of Famer Lou Brock, who helped the St. Louis Cardinals win two World Series in the 1960s, has died. He was 81. Brock, who lost a leg from diabetes, was diagnosed with cancer in 2017.
