“Bringing back the joy of live music”: Symphony unveils 50th anniversary fall season

The Prince George Symphony Orchestra’s 50th anniversary fall season ‘Bringing back the joy of live music’ is now underway.

The season includes four concerts in the fall classic series and one kinder concert.

“We are celebrating our 50 th Anniversary this season and although we had big plans for a big celebration of our big milestone season, the world now calls for small so we have adapted to include small orchestra concerts for small numbers of patrons at a time,” said General Manager Teresa Saunders.

“We’ve broken our season into smaller sections so we can respond and adapt as health authority regulations change over the year.”

All concerts will be held in the new ballroom of the Prestige Treasure Cove Resort, with only 50 patrons at each performance.

The first two performances will include the core professional musicians, joined by community bass Susan Kelly and Vancouver violist Thomas Beckman.

“In November we welcome Maestro Michael Hall back to Prince George to conduct two concerts with a slightly larger orchestra,” said Saunders.

“For many, the highlight of the fall classics series will undoubtedly be the return of Leslie Dala as our guest pianist.”

A kinder concert will be held to close the season in December.
