Pedestrian hospitalized with severe injuries following hit and run on Highway 97

A man is recovering in hospital from serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 97, near the Boundary Road intersection last night (Sept 7).

Emergency services received a report of the hit and run collision just before 10:30, and began treating an adult man for his injuries before transporting him to hospital.

“At this time, it is believed the victim was walking southbound on the southbound side of the road and was struck from behind by a southbound vehicle or trailer,” said Corporal Craig Douglass with the Prince George RCMP.

“The vehicle did not stop. Several pieces of the vehicle or trailer were located indicating that it was damaged and should be noticeable.”

Police are urging the driver to come forward.

Anyone with information about the incident is requested to call RCMP or Crimestoppers.
