NHL:

–Robin Lehner made 24 saves for his 4th shutout of the playoffs to help the Vegas Golden Knights to a 3-0 victory over the Dallas Stars. All of the goals came in the 2nd period. The best of 7 NHL Western Conference final is tied 1-1 with Game 3 Thursday night at 5:00 (PT) in the Edmonton bubble.

–The Tampa Bay Lightning and New York Islanders resume their East final tonight (5:00 PT). Tampa easily won the opener 8-2.

–The 2020 NHL Draft will be held on October 6th and 7th. Free agency will begin on the 9th of next month.

NBA:

–The Toronto Raptors face elimination when they take to the court against the Boston Celtics today (3:40 PT). The Celtics lead the best of 7 NBA Eastern Conference semifinal 3-2.

–The top team in the NBA regular season is out. The Miami Heat eliminated the Milwaukee Bucks 103-94 to take the series 4-1.

–In the West: LeBron James hooped 36 points in 38 minutes to lead the LA Lakers to a 112-102 victory over the Houston Rockets. The Lakers lead 2-1 with Game four Thursday night.

–The late-game tonight (6:00) in the NBA has the LA Clippers, up 2-1, against the Denver Nuggets.

Tennis:

–The run is done for Canadian Denis Shapovalov at the U.S. Open. The 21-year-old 12th seeded Shapovalov lost in five sets to #20 Pablo Carreno Busta of Spain in the quarterfinals. The 5th set ended 6-3 which concluded a match that lasted four hours and nine minutes.

MLB:

–The Toronto Blue Jays doubled the New York Yankees 2-1 to improve to 24-18 after 42 games. The Jays host the (21-21) Yanks again today (3:37 PM PT).
