NHL:

Jon Cooper of Prince George is one win away from returning to the Stanley Cup Final.

The Tampa Bay Lightning coasted to a 4-1 victory over the New York Islanders on Sunday in Edmonton to take a 3-1 series lead in the Eastern Final.

Ondrej Palat, Brayden Point, Nikita Kucherov, and Yanni Gourde all had 2 point games for the Bolts.
Game 5 goes on Tuesday.

In the West, the Dallas Stars can punch their ticket to the final with a win over Vegas tonight at 5pm Pacific Time.

The Stars lead the Golden Knights 3-1 in the series.

NFL:

Jared Goff and the LA Rams edged the Dallas Cowboys 20-17 in the Sunday nighter of Week 1.

Rams running back Malcolm Brown scored twice in the victory.

Elsewhere, Tom Brady’s debut for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was a losing one falling 34-23 to the New Orleans Saints.

Russell Wilson was on fire for the Seattle Seahawks throwing four touchdowns passes in a 38-25 win over Atlanta.

A doubleheader concludes Week 1 tonight with the Pittsburgh Steelers taking on the New York Giants (4:15 Pacific) while the Denver Broncos welcome the Tennessee Titans (7:20 Pacific)

NBA:

The Denver Nuggets are the cardiac kids of the NBA Playoffs.

A 33-point, 14 rebounds effort from Nikola Jokic gave Denver a 111-98 victory over the LA Clippers on Sunday forcing a Game 7 on Tuesday.

The winner will head to the West Final to play the LA Lakers.

The East Final also begins on Tuesday with the Miami Heat taking on the Boston Celtics.

MLB:

A five-run sixth inning gave the Toronto Blue Jays a 7-3 win over the New York Mets in Buffalo on Sunday.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. smacked his seventh home run of the season for the 26-20 Jays.

Santiago Espinal also recorded 3 RBI’s for Toronto.

The Jays are back in action Tuesday against the New York Yankees.
