Vanderhoof pair wins the lottery

Two Vanderhoof residents have won the lottery.

Sahel Sobohani(right) and Deanna Kyncl(left), the outgoing owners of Cozy Corner Pizza have split a $1,000,000 prize. They purchased the 6/49 ticket at the Independent Gas Bar in Vanderhoof.

“Sahel’s car; she was driving it three or four nights ago, and a tire came off. It has almost 400k kilometres. So I think she has to buy a new car” said a laughing Deanna

Deanna added that this will be a big boost for a project the pair had been working on years now;

“We’ve had a dream that we have been working on for about 5 years. It’s a restaurant on Cluculz Lake and we are in the final stages. It’s been a tough go, but this is really going to help push us to the finish line, it’s pretty awesome.”

Deanna and Sahel are in the middle of selling their current business at Cozy Corner Pizza. The new restaurant on Cluculz will be called “The Cabin”.

The pair is still giddy from the good news; they checked their numbers on Tuesday. They say conversations breaking the news to family and friends have been fun and “full of swear words”

Sahel ended the interview saying she wanted to get one thing out there;

“When the going gets tough, just remember to keep on walking because you never know. Just keep on walking.”
