The 23rd annual Citizen of the Year Gala in Prince George has been cancelled this year to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
“Due to COVID-19 and restrictions set out by the Provincial Health Authority for social distancing, the Foundation believes the best way to limit the spread is to limit social gatherings,” explained Mindy Stroat, Director of Development for Prince George Community Foundation.
According to Alain LeFebvre, President of the Prince George Community Foundation, they were considering holding an online event similar to their ‘Stay at Home Gala’ held in May.
Former city councillor Albert Koehler, local photographer Chuck Chin, and Noreen Rustad were honoured at last year’s event.
