New boiler coming to local school

School District 57 has some dollars to spend on energy upgrades.

The district has received $320,000 for a new boiler at Ecole Lac des Bois Elementary School.

District Secretary-Treasurer Allan Reed says this is only partial funding for the project.

“The additional amount that would be required from the school district is approximately $110,000,” says Reed, “and that is coming from our annual facility grant.”

Reed says this money is coming from the provincial government’s Carbon Neutral Capital Program.

He says the boiler replacement will be occurring during the summer.
