In a nutshell: as of 12:05 a.m. (All times PT) Sunday by Hartley Miller
NHL:
–Corey Perry scored his second goal of the game in double overtime to give the Dallas Stars a 3-2 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning. Tampa still leads the Stanley Cup final 3-2 with game 6 just after 5:00 (PT) Monday night at Rogers Place in Edmonton. Jon Cooper of Prince George is the head coach of the Lightning.
NBA:
–The Los Angeles Lakers are going to the NBA Finals for the first time in a decade. LeBron James led the Lakers to a 117-107 triumph over the Denver Nugget to capture the Western Conference finals 4 games to 1. James finished with 38 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists to become the fourth player to reach 10 NBA Finals. (The other three are Bill Russell (12), Sam Jones (11) and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (10).
–Game six in the NBA Eastern Conference finals will be played tonight (4:30 PT). The Miami Heat lead the Boston Celtics 3-2.
MLB:
–The playoff-bound Toronto Blue Jays beat the Baltimore Orioles 5-2 in their second last regular-season game. The (32-27) Jays need another victory this afternoon against the Orioles (12:07 PT) in Buffalo, and a Miami Marlins win over the Yankees in New York, to move up to second place in the AL East and the fifth seed in the American League. If not, Toronto will remain in eighth place and get a first-round best-of-3 playoff meeting with the top-seeded Tampa Bay Rays.
NFL:
–There are 14 Sunday games in the NFL including (1-1) Dallas at (2-0) Seattle this afternoon (1:25 kickoff) and (2-0) Green Bay at (1-1) New Orleans tonight (5:20).
