A rally to support the UNBC Faculty Association took place Saturday afternoon.
This week the association went on strike after contract talks with the university broke down.
The university is offering a five point five per-cent wage increase over five years.
Faculty Association President Jacqueline Holler says they are asking for an individual adjustment.
“That would bring our members closer and were not proposing bringing us up to par with the average in our sector but were certainly proposing to get closer so we want to be compensated at a level of faculty at comparable universities.”
Holler says depending on where a professor ranks, there could be a 20% gap between professors at UNBC and at comparable universities.
