MLB:

–The Toronto Blue Jays are a loss away from having their season end. The Tampa Bay Rays beat Toronto 3-1 in the opener of their American League best-of-3 first round series. Game two will be played in Tampa this afternoon starting just after 1:00 PT.

–Elsewhere in the AL: the NY Yankees crushed Cleveland 12-3, the Chicago White Sox outscored Oakland 4-1 and Houston beat Minnesota 4-1. The Twins are riding an all-time postseason record of 17 straight losses.

NBA:

–The NBA Finals begin tonight just after 6:00 with the Los Angeles Lakers against the Miami Heat. The Lakers are a 5-point favourite in the opener. Kelly Olynyk of Kamloops plays for the Heat.

NHL:

–The Tampa Bay Lightning will celebrate their Stanley Cup victory with a Boat Parade this afternoon. This will be followed by a Champions Celebration. The Lightning, coached by Jon Cooper of Prince George, won the Cup Monday in Edmonton defeating the Dallas Stars in six games.

NFL:

–Week four of the NFL season starts Thursday with Denver at the New York Jets. Both teams are 0-3.
