Prince George athlete, Matija Tiani will be running throughout October as part of the 9th Annual Autism Awareness Walk.
“I am planning on running ten kilometres a day every single day except for Sundays,” explained Tiani.
Canadian Western Bank, Rivers Edge Services, North Side Auto Sales, Certified Labs and Brink Group of Companies will each donate $1 for every kilometre she runs to the Northern Interior Autism Society.

“I am honoured to help the Northern Interior Autism Society,” exclaimed Tiani, “I have gained so much unconditional love and trust over the years working alongside and supporting children with Autism.”
The Northern Interior Autism Society cancelled the event initially scheduled in April and is now asking people to participate in walks throughout PG with a blue balloon to raise awareness for the cause.
On average, about 300-400 Prince George residents participate in the run.
“Both my kids are on the spectrum, many other board members have children on the spectrum so this just means so much to us,” said Jamie Rivard, Director of the Northern Interior Autism Society.
“This was put together so fast, we typically plan this walk over the course of 6 months” added Rivard, “the walk shines a light of awareness and acceptance for people with disabilities.”
