The Nechako Community Theatrics Society and Theatre NorthWest are teaming up to do a stage reading of: The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde.
“COVID-19 is here, and we need to learn how to function in our new reality,’ says Marnie Hamagami, Executive Director of Theatre NorthWest,
“we wanted to take baby steps, to walk before we run, in terms of understanding to how to keep artists and audiences safe.”
TNW is teaming up with local groups for Stage Readings, rather than full productions.
“Stage readings performed by local people means that nobody is traveling into the community, and small audience size means there is plenty of space for people to be properly distanced from each other,” said Hanagami.
She adds they are looking to work within health guidelines and to understand how to produce theatre ‘as safely as possible.’
