MLB

Clayton Kershaw delivered six strikeouts in 5 ⅔ innings of work as the Los Angeles Dodgers doubled up the Tampa Bay Rays 4-2 in Game 5 of the World Series on Sunday.

Joc Pedersen and Max Muncy hit solo-home runs for the Dodgers who now lead the best-of-seven series 3-2.

Game six goes Tuesday (5:07 pm first pitch) from Arlington, Texas.

Kyler Murray engineered a dramatic comeback giving the Arizona Cardinals a 37-34 overtime victory against the Seattle Seahawks.

Murray threw for 360 yards and three touchdown passes. He also ran for 67 yards and recorded a rushing touchdown.

Zane Gonzalez kicked the game-winning field goal for the 5-2 Cardinals who handed Seattle their first loss of the season (5-1).

In other action, the Pittsburgh Steelers escaped Nashville with a 27-24 win over the Tennessee Titans.

Pittsburgh improves to 6-0 while the Titans drop to 5-1.

Abbotsford’s Chase Claypool caught one pass for minus-two yards for the Steelers.

Tonight, the Los Angeles Rams (4-2) host the Chicago Bears (5-1) in Monday Night Football.

Ben Ward tipped home the game-winner with four seconds left as the Merritt Centennials edged the Prince George Spruce Kings 2-1 in exhibition play from the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena.

Andrew Seaman scored the lone goal for PG.

Colton Phillips-Watts of Quesnel picked up the win in net for the Cents.

Brandon Dent, Hunter Brown, Blake Astorino and Alex Ochitwa of PG play for Merritt.

The Spruce Kings are back in action on November 7th (Saturday) against the Centennials from the RMCA at 7 pm.

Low temperature record falls for Prince George

Prince George recorded its coldest temperature for October 13th this morning (Monday) according to Environment Canada. "Prince George Airport registered a low temperature of minus 9.5, which broke the record of minus 7.0, set in 1993," said Environment Canada Meteorologist Gary Dickinson.

The BC Conservation Officer Service (COS) says two hikers in the McGregor Mountain area north east of Prince George yesterday. (Sunday)According to the service, COS PAT Specialists are investigating.

Ice making process to start at two RDFFG rinks

The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George says the ice making process will start at a couple of rural rinks this week. At the start of this month, the Regional District announced ice-making would be indefinitely suspended at the Robson Valley Recreation Centre in McBride and the Canoe Valley Recreation Centre in Valemount.
