Immaculate Conception school added to COVID-19 possible exposure list

Immaculate Conception in Prince George is the second PG school to be added to the BCCDC Potential COVID-19 Exposure list.

The Independent school was added after a  member of the school community tested positive, resulting in a potential exposure event between October 21st and 23rd.

“All this means is that there’s a potential exposure,” explained Northern Health Spokesperson, Eryn Collins,” it doesn’t necessarily mean that anyone was exposed or in close contact with that case.”

The school explains in a letter, “Northern Health has deemed this as not a true exposure event, suggesting that this is a low-risk exposure. Families are encouraged to continue the daily health checks of their child(ren) for illness.”

“If there are close contacts identified they will be notified directly by Public Health,” added Collins.

Prince George Secondary School was the first PG school to be added to the list earlier this month.

Immaculate Concept is the ninth school added to the list from Northern Health.
