Hockey:

–Goalie Taylor Gauthier of the Prince George Cougars has been invited to Hockey Canada’s Selection Camp for the National Junior Team. The camp runs from November 16th-December 13th in Red Deer. The 19-year-old Gauthier is among 46 players invited, including five goaltenders, 15 defencemen, and 26 forwards. They will compete for a chance to represent Canada at the 2021 World Junior Hockey Championship (Dec. 25th-Jan.5th) in Edmonton. 15 of the 46 players are from the WHL.

–The Prince George Spruce Kings will host the Merritt Centennials in their next pre-season game on Saturday, November 7th. The Spruce Kings won two of three exhibition games against the Centennials in October. Brandon Dent, Hunter Brown, Blake Astorino and Alex Ochitwa of PG play for Merritt.

NFL: 

–The Atlanta Falcons have their second win in eight games. The Falcons beat the Carolina Panthers 25-17 to begin Week 8 of the NFL season. The Panthers are 3-5 at the midway point of their season. There are a dozen NFL games on Sunday including San Francisco at Seattle and Pittsburgh at Baltimore.

48 building permits issued in September

The City of Prince George had a strong September for building permit values.According to a report being presented to City Council at tomorrow's (Monday) meeting, the City issued 48 building permits last month, worth a combined $8.9 million.

967 fans at Kopar Memorial Arena were treated to a high-scoring affair last night (Saturday) as the Prince George Spruce Kings picked up a 7-5 win over the Nanaimo Clippers. 

Cougars score six in third period to stun Tri-City

The Prince George Cougars scored in bunches in a 9-3 win over the Tri-City Americans last night. (Saturday)The Cougars opened the game with a quick burst of three goals in the first six minutes of the game.
