NFL:
–The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 6-2 at the midway point of their season. The Bucs held on for a 25-23 victory over the lowly New York Giants to end the NFL’s 8th week. The Giants are 1-7.
–The NFL trading deadline is 1:00 PT this afternoon (Tuesday).
–The San Francisco 49’ers have lost QB Jimmy Garoppolo and tight end George Kittle for several weeks and possibly for the season. Garoppolo has an ankle injury while Kittle has a broken bone in his foot. The banged-up 49’ers host the Green Bay Packers on Thursday.
Hockey:
–The Prince George Spruce Kings will host the Merritt Centennials on Saturday in their next pre-season game. The Spruce Kings won two of three exhibition games against the Centennials in October. Brandon Dent, Hunter Brown, Blake Astorino and Alex Ochitwa of PG play for Merritt.
