NFL: 

–Week 9 of the NFL season begins Thursday with the Green Bay Packers at the San Francisco 49’ers. The Packers are favoured by 5.5 points. The 49’ers have several starters out due to injury including QB Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle) and tight end George Kittle (foot).

Hockey:

–The Prince George Spruce Kings will host the Merritt Centennials on Saturday in their next preseason game. The Spruce Kings won two of three exhibition games against the Centennials in October. Brandon Dent, Hunter Brown, Blake Astorino and Alex Ochitwa of PG play for Merritt.

Strike notice issued for Regional District employees

More public employees in the Prince George area could be striking soon. As of noon today (Wednesday), CUPE 1699, representing employees of the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George has issued 72-hour strike notice.
