A body has been recovered near the recreation trail in Mahood Lake, 30 km north of 100 Mile House, by the RCMP.

The BC Coroners Service was notified of the discovery on October 31, however, the identity of the deceased has not been reported.

“We can confirm the BC Coroners Service was notified and is investigating a death in the Mahood Lake area,” said the service in an email to MyPGNow.

A fact-finding investigation by the BC Coroners Service will now take place.

As the investigation is in its early stages, no further information is currently available.

RCMP have also been searching the area for a missing Prince George woman, who has not been seen since the evening of October 18.

25-year-old Amber Wuetz was last seen in the Canim/Mahood Lake area, but is known to frequent Quesnel, Williams Lake, and 100 Mile.
