NFL:
–Thursday Night Football to kick off Week 9 of the NFL season tonight (Thursday 5:30 PST) has the 5-2 Green Bay Packers at the 4-4 San Francisco 49’ers. The Packers are favoured by 7 points. The 49’ers will be without several players, including QB Jimmy Garappolo and TE George Kittle due to injury. San Francisco also has 4 players on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
NBA:
The NBA is expected to start its 2020-21 season on Dec. 22nd. Each team will play a reduced 72-game schedule. The Players Association is expected to vote in favour of the pre-Christmas start this week.
Hockey:
–The Prince George Spruce Kings host the Merritt Centennials on Saturday in their next preseason game. The Spruce Kings won two of three exhibition games against the Centennials in October. Brandon Dent, Hunter Brown, Blake Astorino and Alex Ochitwa of PG play for Merritt.
