Prince George Remembrance Day Ceremony moves online

Remembrance Day will be going virtual this year in Prince George, in response to COVID-19.

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 43 will be live streaming the ceremony for residents to watch from home.

It will begin at 10:30 a.m. on November 11 and wrap up around 11:30.

The ceremony will be closed to the public, however, locals are asked to stand at the end of the driveway, on the balcony, or in your doorway at 11:10 am for two minutes of silence.

Those who would like to place a wreath or poppy at the Cenotaph may do so between 11:30 a.m – 1:00 pm, however, masks and social distancing are required.

As an alternative, at approximately 10:40 a.m., the live outdoor ceremony will be streamed through Blake Productions’ YouTube channel and through Branch 43’s Facebook page (Legion 43 PG).

The branch will also be open to the public from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with limited space available.
