NFL: 

–The New England Patriots erased a 27-17 deficit to beat the winless New York Jets 30-27 to conclude Week 9 of the NFL season. Nick Folk kicked a 51-yard field goal on the final play of the game as the (3-5) Patriots snapped a 4-game losing streak. The Jets sink to 0-9.

NBA:

–The NBA and the NBPA have reached an agreement in principle to start the 2020-21 season on Dec. 22 with a 72-game schedule. Free agency begins on Nov. 20 which is two days after next week’s draft.

Golf:

— 2017 Masters champ Sergio Garcia will not compete in this year’s Masters tournament which will tee off on Thursday. Garcia withdrew after he tested positive for COVID-19 following the Houston Open. This will be the first time in 84 major championships Garcia will not be in the field.

Hockey:

–The Prince George Spruce Kings play three preseason games this weekend in the Kootenays. The Spruce Kings, who have won three of their four exhibition games, visit the Cranbrook Bucks Friday and Saturday and the Trail Smoke Eaters on Sunday.
