Golf:

–Paul Casey, Dustin Johnson and Dyland Frittelli all shot 7-under-65’s to share the lead entering the second round
of the Masters in Augusta. Defending champion Tiger Woods got off to a good start with a 4-under-68 to match his best-ever first round at the Masters.

NFL: 

–The Indianapolis Colts scored 21 unanswered points in the second half to beat the Tennessee Titans 34-17 to begin Week 10 of the NFL season. Both teams are 6-3 in the AFC South.

MLB:

–Kim Ng has been hired as general manager of the Miami Marlins. NG is believed to be the first female GM in a major professional sport in North America.

–Atlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman and Chicago White Sox slugger José Abreu are the MVP’s in Major League Baseball (Freeman in the NL and Abreu in the AL). The 31-year-old Freeman batted .341 with 13 home runs and 53 RBIs while playing all 60 games. The 33-year-old Abreu batted .317 with 19 home runs and a major-league-leading 60 RBIs and 148 total bases.

Hockey:

–The Prince George Spruce Kings are in the Kootenays where they will play three preseason games this weekend. The Spruce Kings, who have won three of their four exhibition games, visit the Cranbrook Bucks tonight (Friday) and Saturday and the Trail Smoke Eaters on Sunday.
