25 new cases of COVID-19 in North ; one more person has died in the region

BC saw 516 new cases of COVID-19, the provincial total has now reached 25,548 with 7,122 active cases province-wide.

A one-day record 25 more people were diagnosed in Northern Health, the region’s total has reached 588 with 95 active.

One more person has died in the North, a man in his 80’s, six people have lost their battle to the virus in the region.

There are 18 people hospitalized in the North, 8 of whom are in ICU as the region’s recovery rate is now 83%.

Since November 1st, Northern Health has seen 166 new cases.

Hospitalizations across the province are at an all-time high of 227 with 57 in ICU.

BC’s death toll has reached 331 after 10 more people died in the province.

These numbers come after Provincial Health Officer, Dr.Bonnie Henry announced a number of new province-wide restrictions yesterday (Thursday), including mandatory masks in all public and retail spaces.

Vancouver Coastal: 7,404 (+148)

Fraser Health: 15,742 (+294)

Island Health: 446 (+17)
