Mr.PG has been decked out in a 13-meter scarf hand-knitted by a group of ten Prince George women.

According to the City of PG, his new outfit does more than just keep him warm, it is also meant to bring awareness to the fact that not everyone is warm this winter.

Organizations and non-profits can now post photos at the statue with the tag #mrpg60 to their social media accounts, which could be shared on the Mr.PG Instagram account.

Additionally, donors to local non-profit organizations have a chance to win a replica of the scarf by commenting the names of their favourite charities on the posts about Mr. PG on City of Prince George, Tourism Prince George, and Mr. PG social media accounts.

The scarf project was started this summer as a way for the group to connect during the pandemic, knitting squares that represent different organizations and sports teams in PG.

Normally, the women knit mittens, toques, scarves, and sweaters for families in need and give much of their time to support local charities.

This year, they created the scarf to bring attention to the work of different charities and to encourage everyone to support this work with donations.

The winner of the scarf replica will be chosen on December 21st, all entries must be in by noon the day of.
