–The Prince George Track and Field Club began its outdoor season at Masich Place Stadium with the Sub Zero Meet. Nearly 180 athletes from Williams Lake to Mackenzie and from MacBride to Prince Rupert participated. Top results from Prince George included: 14 year old Colburn Pearce who was first in 100 meter, 300 meter, long jump, and triple jump. Meanwhile 10 year old Cole Laing also picked up four first place finishes winning the 100 meter, 600 meter, long jump and shot put. On the girls side 18 year old Carly Frankel, 14 year old Lindsay King, and 13 year old Taigan Wheele all earned three first place finishes. The club`s major track meet of the season is the Annual Spruce Capital Meet which is scheduled for June 7-8.
–21 year old Prince George high jumper Alyx Treasure tied a personal best with a leap of 1.85 metres at the K-State Invitational meet in Manhattan, Kansas. Treasure, a D.P. todd grad, is competing for Kansas State.
–The D.P. Todd Trojans are grade 8 boys district basketball champions following a 48-45 victory over PGSS in the final at College Heights Secondary. Duchess Park Black came third, Duchess Park Gold 4th, Kelly Road 5th, Cedars Christian 6th and College Heights 7th.
–The Quesnel Wildfire are off to a 2-0 start in the newly formed Cariboo Central Interior Intermediate Lacrosse League. Quesnel outscored the PG Posse 9-6 and crushed the Mackenzie Spartans 24-7. The Posse doubled Mackenzie 14-7 in the other league game.
–The season has ended for the BCHL champion Coquitlam Express who finished with an overall 2-3 record at the Western Canada Cup in Dauphin, Manitoba. The Yorkton Terriers ended up first and the Dauphin Kings second to give both of those teams a berth in the Royal Bank Cup that begins Saturday in Vernon. Other teams that have qualified for the RBC: the Carleton Place Canadians, the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots and the host Vernon Vipers.
–The defending champion Portland Winterhawks lead the Edmonton Oil Kings 2-0 in their best of 7 WHL Final with game three Tuesday in Edmonton. The Winterhawks won the first two games 5-2 Saturday and 3-1 Sunday.
