Council meetings closed to public following provincial health orders

The City of PG has restricted public access to in-person Council meetings to adhere to measures implemented by the Provincial government.

This comes after the province clarified last night (Friday) that the new orders require local governments to change how meetings and public hearings are conducted.

Elected officials are now able to attend meetings electronically if they wish to do so.

Consequently, Monday’s Council meeting and Finance Audit Committee meeting will proceed but members of the public, including media, are no longer allowed to attend.

Council meetings can still be viewed via Livestream on the city’s website.
