Prince George welcomes ‘Grow the North’ contest to stimulate local businesses

A new contest developed by MNP and supported by the City of Prince George Economic Development has been created for local businesses.

The three-stage ‘Grow The North’ contest invites business owners to propose their own idea to solve a business challenge they are experiencing.

Applicants will be competing for professional business consulting to help make their proposal a reality. 

“We want to do something positive to support the business community,” says Jameel Sayani, Regional Managing Partner for MNP. “As a firm, we have a multitude of services to offer – from enterprise risk management, succession planning, tech consulting and executive recruitment, to feasibility studies and performance improvement. This is a great opportunity to help local businesses thrive and we are excited that the City of Prince George is joining us.

Candidates must submit a five-page description of their proposal then 6 finalists will receive an initial consultation with MNP professionals to help prepare them to present a live presentation in front of judges.

Three winners will be selected, the first prize is 75 hours of business consulting from MNP, which is valued at over $26,000.

The second and third prizes are 25 hours ($8,750) and 10 hours ($3,500) of consulting, respectively.

To qualify, businesses must be owned and operated in Prince George and have been operating for at least two years.
