Prince George RCMP investigating New Year’s homicide

The Prince George RCMP are investigating the death of a 50-year-old man after responding to a report of a homicide that occurred in the early hours of the new year.

At approximately 1:45 a.m. on Friday, January 1, mounties were called to a residence on the 2800 block of 15th Avenue in Prince George.

After the area was secured, the RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit was called in to lead the investigation.

“This investigation is in the early stages and significant resources have been deployed,” said spokesperson Corporal Craig Douglass.

“Investigators wish to speak to anyone that may have witnessed this incident or anyone that may have information.”

Police believe the event was targeted.

Surprise visit brings big smiles to boy battling cancer in Quesnel

A young man battling eye cancer received a surprise visit over the Canada Day long weekend by a car club and motorcycle club in Quesnel. Over 50 vehicles from the Prospector’s Car Club and the Dangerous Curves Motorbike Club drove by and filled the dead-end roads near Kellen Harper-Frederiko’s house, with well wishes, toys to give to Kellen, and chances for him to sit in and on cars and bikes.
