Houston’s Ruth Hamblin at WNBA draft tonight

Houstonite Ruth Hamblin will learn where the next step of her professional career will be at tonight’s WNBA draft.

Draftsite.com predicts the 6’6 Oregon State Centre could go anywhere between 7th and 14th overall, with an average ranking of about 10th.

The “Canadian Hammer” says she’s ready for whatever happens tonight.

“Obviously, there’s some nerves going with it. It’s some unfamiliar territory and a lot of pressure, performance is demanded all the time, but I’m really excited for the next challenge and excited to see where this leads me,” she says.

She is one of seven eligible Centers and the only “notable” Canadian in the draft.

The draft begins at 4 PM pacific from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
