Brock Boeser scored a pair of 3rd period goals for the Canucks. The same teams will play again tonight (6:00 PT) in Edmonton.

Toronto Maple Leafs  5  Montreal Canadiens  4  (OT)

The Calgary Flames and Winnipeg Jets start their season when they meet this evening in Winnipeg.

 

BCHL:


NBA:

–James Harden got his wish. The Houston Rockets dealt Harden to the Brooklyn Nets in a blockbuster four-team trade that also involved the Indiana Pacers and Cleveland Cavaliers. The Nets sent Houston a package that included multiple players and draft picks.

–The Toronto Raptors play tonight against the (6-6) Charlotte Hornets in Tampa Bay. After 10 games the (2-8) Toronto Raptors have the second-worst record in the NBA only ahead of the (2-9) Detroit Pistons.

 

NFL: (Playoffs)

–The NFL Conference semi-finals will be featured this weekend. The four games have LA Rams at Green Bay (Saturday 1:35 PM PT) and Tampa Bay at New Orleans (Sunday 3:40 PM) in the NFC plus Baltimore at Buffalo (Saturday 5:15 PM) and Cleveland at Kansas City (Sunday 12:05 PM) in the AFC. Home teams are favoured in each game: the Packers by 6 1/2, Bills by 2 1/2, Saints by 3 and Chiefs by 10.

Low temperature record falls for Prince George

Prince George recorded its coldest temperature for October 13th this morning (Monday) according to Environment Canada. "Prince George Airport registered a low temperature of minus 9.5, which broke the record of minus 7.0, set in 1993," said Environment Canada Meteorologist Gary Dickinson. 

Conservation Officer Service investigating grizzly bear attack in McGregor Mountain area

The BC Conservation Officer Service (COS) says two hikers in the McGregor Mountain area north east of Prince George yesterday. (Sunday)According to the service, COS PAT Specialists are investigating.

Ice making process to start at two RDFFG rinks

The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George says the ice making process will start at a couple of rural rinks this week. At the start of this month, the Regional District announced ice-making would be indefinitely suspended at the Robson Valley Recreation Centre in McBride and the Canoe Valley Recreation Centre in Valemount.
