Annual True North Women in Leadership Panel takes place on January 25th

The Prince George Chamber of Commerce and LNG Canada will be hosting a virtual Women in Leadership Panel on Monday, January 25th.

The ‘True North Business Development Forum’ happens every year around this time, the main topic of this years panel was inspired by the adversities created by the pandemic.

“We’ve sort of focused on a theme this year of leadership through disruption,” explained CEO of the Chamber of Commerce, Todd Corrigall, “and with that our partners at LNG have the great opportunity to have a really focused conversation on how we move forward.”

It will be an open panel so the panellists will be answering questions but primarily basing their discussions on their own experiences as women in leadership roles.

The panellists for this year’s event include Prince George/Valemount MLA and interim leader for the official opposition party, Shirley Bond and Leader of the BC Green Party and Cowichan Valley MLA, Sonia Furstenau.

Additionally, Vice President of Human Resources and Environment Health and Safety, Joy Drope and LNG Canada’s Director of Corporate Affairs and Incoming President and Canadian Country Chair for Shell Canada, Susannah Pierce will be on the panel.

“A lot of these discussions will centre around women in leadership and the strengths and different perspectives they may bring to leadership positions and leadership positions traditionally held by men so energy sector, oil and gas and political office,” Corrigall noted.

The event will be held from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm and tickets are available on the Prince George Chamber of Commerce website.
