The Rated PG Roller Girls squad is hosting its biggest derby tournament this weekend.
It’s “The Northern Exposure” roller derby Tournament at the Roll-a-Dome, the second tourney of its size held by the team.
On Friday the action starts with Grande Prairie versus PG at 7:30 p.m..
There are five other teams in the tournament, one coming from as far as Saskatoon.
Rated PG’s Pivot Alicia “Lockdown” Lock calls it “A Whole weekend of derby, this is something to get out of the rain and come and watch”
Other teams come from Quesnel, Fort Saint John, Kamloops, and Terrace.
There’s more festivities during the tournament, a 50/50 draw, a balloon -popping challenge with prizes hidden in a few of them, like tattoo gift certificates, car washes, and headphones.
Day-passes are $15 in advance, $20 at the door, weekend passes are all 12 games for $25 in advance, $30 at the door, while games on Friday and Saturday night are $10. Tickets are available at Handsome Cabin Boy Tattoo parlour, the Roll-a-Dome, or the Rated PG Rollergirls.
