YMCA wraps up Strong Kids Campaign

The YMCA of Northern BC has marked the end of its Strong Kids Month.

The local agency spent February 15th – March 15th fundraising to provide children with more access to the Y’s programs.

CEO Amanda Alexander says Strong Kids helps those who have financial barriers.

“Trying to build support around access to camps because for a lot of families that is not obtainable,” says Alexander, “so we are looking at all the different ways our YMCA supports the children in our community because we believe that every child has a place at the YMCA.”

Alexander says this year’s campaign raised $15,969.

She says this money will help hundreds of kids in Prince George.
