Monday was the International Day of the Midwife, and local members promoted the day at Pine Centre Mall.
Midwife Judy DeFreitas says they give very specific care to each women who uses their services during pregnancy.

According to the provincial Association, over 16 per-cent of babies born in BC have a midwife in attendance.
