Vanderhoof man recognized for theatre program

The Director of the Vanderhoof Children’s Theatre has been recognized for his work.

Richard Wruth has been chosen as one of this year’s recipients of the BC Community Achievement Award.

Wruth says it was a little overwhelming to get recognized.

“It was an honour to be recognized even for this and I’m not one for the spot light but its been a lot of years for children’s theatre and a lot of hard work.”

Wruth says he started the Vanderhoof’s Children’s Theatre in 1999 and they do two musicals a year.

He says this is to allow children in grades two to twelve the chance to be exposed to the theatre.
