The Prince George RCMP are currently investigating a crime spree that began Monday morning that resulted in multiple vehicle and business break-ins.

The first of 6 incidences occurred at 4 am on Monday (February 8th),  officers responded to a report of an alarm going off inside a business on the 1200 block of 4th Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers observed the glass door at the front of the business was broken and called in the Police Dog Service Team, but due to the weather, were unable to locate a track.

The suspect in this incident took three laptop computers valued at $1500 each.

Police received a second break and enter report just a few hours later at 8:00 a.m, this time to several businesses on the 200 block of Victoria Street.

Several units reported a number of items were stolen, including $10,000 in vintage coins, some high-end Rookie Hockey Cards, multiple laptops, an iPad and several hundred dollars in old currency.

Surveillance footage showed the suspect entering the building at 3:45 a.m.

Police describe the suspect as:

– Caucasian male
– White Sox pro-fit hat
– Mechanix gloves
– Blue jeans
– Unique shoes
– Carrying a multi-tool on his hip

“Some of these items are very specific and not widely in circulation,” said Cst. Jennifer Cooper of the PG RCMP,” If anyone notices items like these for sale on electronic sale sites, they should contact the Prince George RCMP with the seller’s information and include a screenshot of the listing.”

A third break and enter was reported at a business on the 500 Block of Victoria Street the same day at 2:00 p.m, police say the description of this suspect matches the previous.

At 8:00 a.m. on February 9, 2021, the Prince George RCMP received a report of multiple vehicle break-ins to an underground parkade on the 1000 block of 6th Avenue.

Police found multiple personal vehicles and two City of Prince George vehicles had the windows smashed or the locks punched out.

Suspects had taken various items from the vehicles including loose change and clothing, police believe the suspect entered the building right before 5 am.

RCMP then received a report of a break and enter to a building at the 1600 block of Victoria Street at 6:30 a.m. on February 9th.

A tenant at the location chased the suspect from the building after catching the suspect trying to break into his office.

Video surveillance shows the suspect entered the building shortly after 5:00 a.m and didn’t manage to take anything or cause any property damage.

Less than an hour later, police received a call from two businesses on the 1800 block of Victoria Street.

Police say a male suspect stole an unknown amount of money after gaining entry to the building through an insecure ground-level window then used the building elevators to gain entry to the businesses.

Officers are now recommending businesses take extra caution when locking up, and urging drivers to keep valuable items and change out of view when leaving their vehicle.
